How do i know if this is lead paint dust?
yesterday i dusted my furniture and cleaned my whiole apartment. this morning i woke up to a dusty apartment again. where is the dust coming from? my windows are closed. My mother mentioned that the paint could be letting off lead dust how do i test her belief? also both my husband and i have been having nausia headache and stomache pains my parents are concerned that we have lead poisoning. where is all this dust coming from? and how do i know if we have lead paint?
When was your house built? If it was built after about 1965 the chances of it having lead based paint are very slim.
I can’t say where the dust is coming from but interior paint does not “out gas” or “dust”.
The only way to be sure you don’t have lead poisoning is to have your blood tested. (which I would do given your story).
There is away to test dust for lead content but it should be done by a lead inspector or risk assessor.
