What is the real danger in the paint on the status of toys? Facts please, not the opinion of ignorance?

Why There is much coverage, so the history of lead paint? Lead has been widely used as an additive to what, what, in the mid-70s, and then met with a decline. Millions of homes have lead paint on them and have more than one hundred years. and yet we not a nation of idiots (GWB not included). Now, I know that young children are particularly at risk of lead poisoning due to all that can generally reach the mouth. And after the bite paint chips in their system, etc, but what if your child has passed this stage? Danger is more theoretical than real? If I have a GI Joe painted with lead paint in my closet and I never plan any midnight snack what is the danger? Is not all Ruckus more than one way to inflate the media during a "slow" season real concern that new to people? all I hear every day is what appears to be ill-informed opinion. The agency have all the facts?

Problem is that these are the toys that are painted with paint containing lead. Since many parents are buying toys above the level Children age you have very young children with these painted toys in their mouths. Lead can enter the blood of others than just eating. But as it is a minor (Very low), it is safe to say that the concern is only for young children to eat the toys. Remember that lead is a cumulative poison rather fast. So if a child has many toys that eat the collection is very worrying. It also has plenty of time to reduce the level in the blood system that can lead to damage time.

When this happens before a grand jury?

Well, tomorrow brings a hideous spectacle of the Bush policy of accepting bribes called corrupt. I suppose the theory is to grasp it while you can never, never to return. It would be very curious to know if the commissioner Nancy Nord, said the value of your trip to Hilton Head corrupt Golf Resort. The law under which we live junior said that if it did not plan the next trip paid, we would take a federal detention center. Beyond So I think that both the offer and accept a bribe to an official and a federal crime. I guess I know why the Justice Department has had to rely on the cleaning station to make this little problem to light. On the other side at least now we know what the head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission was when hundreds of thousands of painted toys Lead has been offered for sale to children of America. Lead poisoning is incurable and debilitating for life. Nordie Great work!

She led the largest toy withdraw a known problem since 1994. Then he asked for more money for testing facilities and inspectors and said that more money can not if used for Lawers.

will it be harder to replace windows for houses built before 1979?

From my understanding, the EPA passed some regulation that went into effect on April 22nd. It requires contractors to take extra steps when replacing windows on homes built before 1979 and some contractors may decide to avoid working on houses built before 1979 or charge more to replace their windows. It has something to do with lead paint. Is this true?

Yes……….it sucks…..homes before 1978—–must be checked in the area to be worked on by a certified renovator (I just had to go to school to get certified) its called the RRP rule…if the home has a child under 6 or a pregnant woman –then the rules are even stricter—in those cases a lead assessor or risk assessor have to do the test(and in hud houses they are the only ones certified–SUCKS
I had to take time off work ,spend money on tools and equipment–my brain is overloaded with info
also my van is overloaded with more stuff to hall around –if I follow everthing they say I will have to through away every thing I own that is not a hard surface–lead can’t be washed out of cloth etc.
So should I throw out the seats in my van ,the headliner the carpetthe seatbelts..should I throw out all my clothsand every thing I owned for 56 years—this law is killing me and it destroyed jobs when they should be creating jobs not destroying the livly hood of millions???????????????/
I just eat strawberrys to get the lead out of me but congress screwed every contractors life up with this law –they tell you plastic everything off -try that on the snow or ona carpet when leaning out a window–
whoever made this law knows nothing about the real world they must live in a box……….theres more but this is getting me pissed so I don’t want to talk about it any(its the only thing that ever messed up my sleep hours except for a divorce 17 years ago)In this state only abut 500 contractors out of maybe 35000 even knew of the law—stupid -stupid stupid stupid epa get out of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Revelations of a Professional Home Inspection

The professional way for defects in a home’s structure, systems, components, and even features is with a home inspection. These inspections are carried out by experts that are required to follow strict regulations and industry standards, provincially, nationally, and internationally. Inspectors are either certified or licensed and highly beneficial for buyers, sellers, real estate agents/brokers, and even banks and other lending institutions. The information identified reveals a realistic condition of the property.

Obviously, of all investments that people make, real estate is the biggest so having the home inspected by a professional is imperative. For people interested in buying a home, the inspection provides a sense of confidence, knowing their financial investment and safety would be protected. With this, potential buyers can decide what repairs they might be willing to make outside of what the loan requires.

Then for the seller, the inspection reveals things that need to be repaired prior to putting the home on the market, which means having the opportunity to make changes so the home is in the best possible condition to sell quickly and at the asking price. Additionally, sellers in a hurry to sell might choose to reveal defects to potential buyers, negotiating price, and closing based on how much they have time to do opposed to what buyers would be interested in taking on.

A good home inspection would involve very specific tasks for both buyer and seller, which includes the following:

* The inspection would reveal wood rot, termites, or other problems specific to wood. While a termite inspection would be focused on termites and damage only, the inspection would show termites, as well as wood rot, and even things such as a broken beam in the attic. * A home inspection would also look at chimneys to make sure smoke filters property, that no bricks or rock is crumbling, and that older chimneys do not have a flue liner.

* The electrical portion of the home inspection would determine the type and age of the electrical box, checking that it follows current city code. If a new electrical box is required, a licensed electrician could make suggestions as to brand and cost of replacement.

* The home’s furnace would also be inspected, which involves taking various components apart to look at the heat exchanger for cracks or malfunction. If a problem were identified, a licensed HVAC specialist would be able to provide details as to exact problem, components needing to be replaced, and any associated costs.

* If the home is older, the home inspection may also look for lead-based paint. If this were found, it would need to be removed by an abatement contractor, someone licensed and with experience removing dangerous chemicals. Lead paint is very dangerous and needs to be considered seriously.

* Another service provided by most home inspectors is to verify public records of the property, making comparisons so inaccuracies pertaining to square footage could be identified and then corrected. If the home inspection does not cover this service, an appraiser could assist or the calculations could be done by you.

* Even the type of foundation on which the home is built would be identified, raised or slab. If necessary, a foundation engineer could also be hired to determine any damage or defects such as sliding or cracking of the foundation.

* Another area that most inspectors cover is the roof, looking at the number of layers, year of the roof, and condition. This is actually a very important part of the home inspection not just from the roof perspective, but also because the structure of the room involves the chimney and plumbing. Typically, minor defects will appear on a roof between six and nine years of age although standard life of a quality roof is up to 30 years.

* The plumbing and water systems of the home would also be inspected. In this case, if problems were identified, a plumber would come in to look at the extent of the problem and if necessary, unclog or replace old pipes.

* Another important aspect of the home inspection is looking for the presence of mold, which contain airborne particulates that can be dangerous. Using special equipment, the air quality would be tested in and around the property.

Remember, these are just the primary services of a home inspector but a good inspection can reveal so much more. Whether you are the buyer or seller, it would be to your advantage to know current and potential risks rather than waiting shortly before buying or selling and only having the transaction delayed.

Do We Realize The Suffering Involved with the Products We Buy?

More than $2. 8 billion people in the world are working for less than $2 a day. Huge Corporations, giddy with joy over Free Trade Laws, are ever on the search for cheaper labor. Americans have fed this inequity by purchasing goods from countries where workers could be described as slave labor, even though we are sometimes faced with poisonous products, like lead paint in toys or tainted dog food.

Each day shiploads of foreign cargo reach our ports and no one seems to care that young children are employed in foreign factories, that women work in appalling conditions that no American would accept, that they labor for hours for salaries so low they are caught in poverty for their lifetimes.

Should Americans accept this? Should a mass boycott of foreign goods be used to halt these conditions? Should we insist that our politicians rework the Trade laws and, not only reinstate American manufacturing, but insist upon fair salaries and better working conditions in foreign lands?

Let me suggest that your train of thought was heading in the right direction, but then it crashed after derailing.
Yes there are countries all over the world that use slave labor tactics. No it isn’t the responsibility of American to fix it as far as putting money into the problem. Our responsibility is to get our elected officials to stop the wasteful spending habits that they have at all levels, so the companies will stay here in our country and not go to these other countries.
The actual American citizen has selfishly made this problem worse, and continues to allow our government to tax everyone and everything. Our greed as Americans lets a Union tell a business that it has to operate at a cost that will cripple the company. Aske the auto industry why they keep closing plants across the country.
Our individual greed, as well as our government taxes, and all of those sweet little special interest groups have brought this on.
The actual answer is to rebuild our government and retake our country. When that is done, we need to keep out of the afairs of the rest of the world and work on taking care of things here at home.
