But it was like for you to consider the presence of lead in their home, and the walls and floors may require disturbing a person qualified to perform this task?

Effective April 22, 2010, for homes built before 1979 (1978 and more), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires renovators to inform the owner that the property may contain unhealthy levels of lead in paint or surface coatings. When (a job) cut inside six square feet or more of paint or any surface coatings which room, or (b) disturbs work outside 20 square feet or more paint or surface coatings, unhealthy levels of lead in paint or surface coatings may be present. By law, the renewal must give you the prospectus EPA, href = "http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovaterightbrochure.pdf"> Lead Certificate Guide for the renewal of the law "if the parameters above are met or exceeded.

Federal regulations define lead paint coatings unsafe or surface, such as paint or surface coatings "That contain lead equal to or greater than 1.0 milligrams per square centimeter or more than 0.5 percent by weight."

Hazards health of lead are very dangerous for children, pregnant women, adults and workers. Lead exposure causes permanent brain damage. Children under six years are at increased risk of small amounts of lead. Among adults, pregnant women are especially at risk of lead exposure. In children, lead can cause nervous system damage kidney, reduction in intelligence, attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, speech, language and the problem behavior. Health effects of lead in adults include hypertension, fertility problems in men and women, digestive problems, disorders nervous, memory and concentration problems, sexual dysfunction and muscle and joint pain.

EPA in charge of the special procedures have been developed by the federal government over the past 18 years and safely remove duly painted or surface coatings that contain lead. These include, but are not limited to, windows, doors, wall surfaces (painted drywall, masonry, plaster, paneling, etc.), cabinets, baseboards, chair rails, moldings, trim around doors and windows, etc. The removal, replacement and modification of all windows must comply with these new EPA guidelines.

The EPA office renovation, repair and painting (PPI) of the Federal regulations require that particular attention and procedures used in the containment of risks due to dust containing lead, removal and disposal of products containing lead, and cleaning during and after renovation.
