Need holistic advice on how to detox lead?

Lead poisoning is a very serious condition. Just found out my youngest son has rising levels of lead from his recent test. Outside of the prevention aspect (We are currently looking to get everything in the immediate environment tested and corrected), what can I do to get the lead out…no pun intended. Is there some sort of holistic remedy that can be used that is safe and effective for a 2 yr. old? Do those foot pads that you wear at night really work? Please help.

those foot pads are total lies. Go here:http://www.answers.com/topic/chelation-therapy. lead poisoning is not something done at a home go to the web site, read the infoo and see a doctor now

Why is the calcium salt of EDTA an effective detoxifying lead poisoning?

considering the formation constants (Kf) to KF (Ca ^ 2 – EDTA) = 5.0×10 ^ 10 KF (Pb ^ 2-EDTA) = 1.1×10 ^ 18

Ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid or EDTA chelation Methal, and binds heavy metals very well. It has a greater affinity for lead than for Ca, making it an effective detoxifier for lead poisoning. The main reason salt is used (and is often sodium salt) is to make more soluble in EDTA.

Lead Poisoning Symptoms Exposure

lead poisoning symptoms exposure
How can my son be tested for lead poisoning? He has all of the behavioral symptoms. Or is it just his age?

Are these “symptoms” that of a normal 3 year old or should I have my son tested for lead poisoning? I am aware of all of the recalls and he has not had any of the toys but that doesn’t mean he has never been exposed to it else where. I doubt he has even been around lead so much to call it “chronic” These “symptoms” may be the regular actions of a 3 year old….right?
Here is what I found of the behavioral problems:

Chronic exposure to lead may also cause behavioral problems in these children.

Behavioral symptoms in children
Irritability or aggressiveness
Hyperactivity, being easily distracted, impulsiveness
Learning difficulties
Lethargy or less interest in play
Loss of appetite
I should actually mention that he is extremely smart. He just doesn’t sit still long enough to read a book or play learning games. He is like a giant sponge and will remember just about anything you say or show him though. So I can make out that symptom.

If you’re really worried about it just go to your primay care doc and get them to run a lead level and blood test on your kid. It’s the easiest way to calm your nerves. Alternatively he may just be acting like a 3 year old.

I’ve attached an article if you’d like to know more. I hope this helps.

Foods To Eat When Pregnant & What Are The Pregnancy Foods To Avoid?

As a responsible mother you are already aware of the importance of certain foods to eat when pregnant (milk for calcium, meat for protein, for example). However it is equally important to be aware of the pregnancy foods to avoid, as these foods, at the very least will give poor to zero nutritional value, and may also increase the possibilities of developmental defects or infection. These foods include:

1- Meats, poultry or fish that are raw or undercooked. Undercooked meats are known to be contaminated with bacteria such as salmonella and coliform.

2- Deli meats. Deli meats have been known to be contaminated with listeria which is a bacterium that can cause miscarriage. This bacterium is dangerous because it can cross the placenta and cause infection and blood poisoning to the fetus.

3- Foods to eat when pregnant should not include raw eggs and foods that contain raw eggs such as mayonnaise, caesar salad dressing and hollandaise sauce. Raw eggs are considered harmful for pregnant women because of the potential exposure to salmonella. However, if you like these kinds of foods you can simply cook them well with other ingredients, and this is also the case with all other uncooked foods.

4- Soft cheeses such as feta and brie, and unpasteurized milk. These are examples of pregnancy foods to avoid because they may contain listeria, which as shown earlier is a lethal bacterium that can cause miscarriage.

5- Fish with high levels of mercury should be avoided as the high mercury content can lead to brain damage and developmental delays. This can manifest itself as talking and walking difficulties for your child. Examples of fish with high levels of mercury are: shark, king mackerel, tile fish and swordfish. Canned tuna does contain mercury, but the level is not too high, that is why it is ok to be eaten in moderation. Other recommended fish to eat include shrimps, cod, salmon and catfish.

6- Foods to eat when pregnant should not include unwashed vegetables as they may cause toxoplasmosis. Therefore wash all vegetables thoroughly and for extra protection, you can soak your vegetables with a little bit of white vinegar and a spoonful of lemon juice.

7- Alcohol is a definite no-no, as it is not known what levels can harm the fetus or lead to miscarriage, but we do know that it’s harmful.

8- Although you are not urged to completely stop drinking caffeinated coffee, it is recommended that you moderate your intake. A lot of miscarriage cases have been linked to caffeine, so wise consumption is required.

9- Fast foods, highly processed foods and foods loaded with additives and preservatives should all be pregnancy foods to avoid. These foods are loaded with artificial ingredients, sugars and fats, and will only fill you with empty calories of zero nutritional value.

Giving your developing baby all that he or she requires ensures that they have the best chance of going to full term, and entering the world happy and healthy. Thankfully it’s pretty simple. As you learn about the best foods to eat when pregnant, you also learn about the pregnancy foods to avoid.
